General (Daytime) Legal Services

Clients are seen by appointment or referred to a service which specialises in a particular area of law. It is for clients who live, work or study in the City of Maribyrnong. If you live outside the area you may be referred to a legal service in your area.

We may be able to assist you by providing advice, writing letters, helping with negotiations, applying for legal aid.

Problems we may be able to assist you with include:

  • consumer law
  • IVO
  • tenancy
  • telecommunications
  • fines
  • credit and debt matters
  • motor vehicle accidents
  • family
  • divorce
  • neighbourhood disputes
  • legal aid applications

We can provide an interpreter on request. Because the Centre has limited resources we cannot assist everyone. The Centre does not provide on-going assistance in relation to:

  • personal injury
  • conveyancing
  • probate
  • complex Family Law matters
  • commercial business.
